  About Us

This should help to explain what we do as an organization. We are not only here for the veterans, and active military, but for the local community as well.

What we do...

We, as an organization, are here to help families of service members currently deployed to hostile regions, as well as assisting the widows, orphans and families of fallen commrades.

We provide services to our community, such as flag retirement, color guard services, and funeral services when requested by the families of fallen commrades.

The Post also has many different funtions to support their causes. Some of them are the Veterans Day dinner/ dance,  St.Patrick's Day dinner/ dance,  USO fundraiser dinner/ dance , Night at the races fundraiser, Texas Hold'em card tournament fundraiser. The Post also hosts a people with special needs dance every last friday of the month. This dance is for mentally and physically challanged people from the Town Of Babylon to come out and socialize.

These events are created and ran by the veterans, for the veterans.

Please show support by attending these events, pass the word along to family and friends. We need your participation to make these events successful.

Our Community Service

The following quote was taken from the VFW headquarters site (vfw.org). This better explains what the VFW does as an organization.

Community Service

The VFW has a rich tradition associated with community service, working closely with other national organizations such as March of Dimes, the Points of Light Foundation and America's Promise-The Alliance for Youth. Constructive community service is a founding VFW tenet with volunteerism benefiting education, the environment, health sciences and civic projects. The VFW's citizenship education program is designed to stimulate an interest in America's history, its traditions and institutions, as well as promote patriotism. The VFW also partners with the Boy Scouts of America, National Rifle Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, International Association of Firefighters and the Salvation Army.

 Quotation

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.
